S...Wow, I could have written this article myself!!! So relieved that others can relate! My son is also extremely difficult and there are days where I think: Why did I have a child?! I ruined my life! Of course, I love him to bits but the last 5.5 years since his birth were absolute hell most of the time. I know so much about parenting, we did attachment parenting, I never let him cry as a baby, he was always with me. Basically, I did everything "right" but he is so difficult to deal with. He is also extremely strong-willed AND highly sensitive AND gifted, which is a terrible combination... He's so emotional and afraid sometimes, but then also so self-assured and fearless on other times, it is exhausting. Also, he's a terrible eater and so picky. I could go on and on... When he has his tantrums, he's like a 2-year old who doesn't get his candy. I look so forward to when he's older and hopefully more "grounded" and more compliant... I wish you strength and all the best!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-64403931939880260112018-06-27T10:51:03.813+01:002018-06-27T10:51:03.813+01:00Nice and Simple info about Kids Party Supplies and...Nice and Simple info about Kids Party Supplies and if you want to know more about kids party supplies and decorations to celebrate & enjoy with your kids and family visit

Kids Party SuppliesCheap Party shophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05853523782975367777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-80043320523165438242017-11-24T11:06:06.742+00:002017-11-24T11:06:06.742+00:00Hell, this is tough. What a complete nightmare for...Hell, this is tough. What a complete nightmare for you to live through. I get a lot of what you mean - I've got 10 and a 12 yr old boys so we're not quite there yet but we have our own traumas - at times its continuous hideous behaviour but they do at least apologise to me from time to time and they do talk to me about some things.
I'm no professional but from a purely mum perspective this is what I'd do...
1) Try and make the atmosphere in the house happier - bake so the house is filled with lovely smells, put cheerful music on sometimes, invite friends over for a meal
2) Get him out doing something physical with his friends - get his dad/ uncle/ grandad/ older cousin / ones of his friend's dads to take them - mountain biking at the Lookout Bracknell / kayaking / Go Ape/?
3) Have a tech detox for the whole family at the weekend, not as a punishment but as a way to be healthier. If you can't manage a whole weekend, work out what hours you could manage. Could you include the TV so he has to find something else to do?
4) Go away for an activity break somewhere with poor reception.
5) Have a very discreet word with his school to see if anything is bothering him and to enlist their help
6) Do something to lift your spirits
7) See your GP if things don't improve.
Hope things get better for you soon. Good luck.DebDooDahDaynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-17857015015822988462017-09-29T16:20:56.783+01:002017-09-29T16:20:56.783+01:00Only just found this new post Melissa - like Clare...Only just found this new post Melissa - like Clare said, I really feel for you. My 12yo is quite immature so hasn't really turned into a teenager yet, but he does say "I don't know" to most questions. I really think he will thank you later for not letting him do as he pleases - he'll be glad he didn't have those mythical other parents who say yes to everything and don't quietly encourage him to become a decent human being. If it's any consolation, I hear similar tales from plenty of other friends, so you're not alone.
Lots of love and hugs xxxnappy valley girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10788949037047084412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-47925611760644402732017-09-11T13:27:04.816+01:002017-09-11T13:27:04.816+01:00Oh god. In many ways I'm lucky; my oldest isn't challenging me quite as much but I recognise the signs and know that everything you mention in your post is headed towards me like an unstoppable train. Stick to your guns - I agree with every single one of the rules that you mention - but I agree, it takes time for our kids to fully appreciate the benefits of our parenting. If I'm honest, it wasn't until I had my own kids that I properly understood what my parents did for me!

Potty Mummyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04751869800592294891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-20492168673542969412017-04-21T06:52:53.901+01:002017-04-21T06:52:53.901+01:00Thanks for sharing these Harry Potter themed party...Thanks for sharing these Harry Potter themed party tips. My son never acted outwardly, he was very moody and lied to cover his dad's antics. I was no help at the time. But just as I think things are finally getting better, we are right back to my son outwardly hating me. He has never said it out loud but you can tell by the way he talks, looks at me. I had him in counceling for awhile to try to get his moodiness out to no avail. I just really pray that he doesn't grow up to treat his girlfriends/wife the way he treats his mom. I love my son dearly. I cannot stand his personality though. :(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-67342870291450679912016-05-25T21:24:44.504+01:002016-05-25T21:24:44.504+01:00OMG this is my nearly 9 year old son, he was so un...OMG this is my nearly 9 year old son, he was so unhappy and in tears everyday at school that I have been home educating him for 2 years, he still crys very easily and gets very frustrated if he fails so glad I found this as I was getting very worried that he was really sad and I didnt understand why.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-38236362467330408172016-05-15T00:24:04.789+01:002016-05-15T00:24:04.789+01:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10284716752486667664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-60198993667184116192015-11-04T03:07:16.721+00:002015-11-04T03:07:16.721+00:00I wish my parents had had a clue about this, they ...I wish my parents had had a clue about this, they just went with whatever some quack or old maid teacher told them was wrong and pushed me into therapy or special ed classes or psychiatric child groups...they didn't know how to raise me and when you're a kid with nobody to mirror that part of you back or acknowledge it in anyway you just bury it and be 'tough' like they want. That just creates baaaad anxiety (terror) depression and OCD and I tried even harder to bury them cause i didn't want to get locked up in a rubber room for being a little lunatic and feeling even more ashamed of myself. I remember trying to tell my old lady that i couldn't imagine ever growing up and doing what other people do but i don't think it came out right, she didn't get me.I just figured i was all alone and really went off the deep end when i got to high school and had to go on psychiatric pills after starving myself into the hospital for six months. I sort of hoped to be dead by 20 back then, i saw no future as just simple stuff was hard enough for me. Being from a split family with no dad aggravated alot of it. I just lived in my head daydreaming.

I can't believe either something like this isn't well known, or maybe it is and we just stuff it out of awareness because we all need to be tough and strong and we don't like people reminding us of how hard it can be?

Public school eats this type alive, I do believe that. Messed up kids from their own messed up families taking it out on each other, all crammed together in an authoritarian atmosphere trying to mold them into good workers that follow orders. Little sponges suck it all up. Sick environment.

Sorry if this was inappropriate venting,
I'm happy you found this out for your son though.
Good luck.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-4829256752123238462015-09-18T10:55:08.121+01:002015-09-18T10:55:08.121+01:00I would also like to say that so many enviroments ...I would also like to say that so many enviroments and practices considered normal are just sooo horrid for babies and young children generally. primary colours, /tv , music , machinery , buggies/strollers pushing them through crowds and traffic literally in their face. noisy plastic toys with sinister synthetic voices , any one scared of public toilet/washroom dryers?, nurserys/daycare, swimming pools,i pads, tablets, smart phones, so much sensory overload, once you start looking it is common sense stuff to avoid for people finding their feet after leaving a womb. I personally think its time all and not just sensitive young children were allowed to be themselves in a natural space without adults or fake stuff in their face every waking hour, and guess what, thats what they do in scandinavia , till they 6-7 yrs old getting adult teeth. jessicayessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02031607202172201274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133786582796275869.post-49653601772186694212015-09-18T10:25:09.856+01:002015-09-18T10:25:09.856+01:00Thankyou so much this, it is me and my youngest ch...Thankyou so much this, it is me and my youngest child described here, I remember feeling so angry at Steve Biddulf psychologist and authour, for saying shyness is attention seeking, as I still cleary remember my feelings of sheer genuine fear as a child being coaxed to speak to strangers. My 3yr old is so clingy my claustrophobia has at times turned to rage and despair even though I empathise, I am not an athroposophist (waldorf steiner) but feel that this approach is best for these people , some souls are just born wary and need to be held, loved , encouraged, warned in advance and given rythm and routine as far as possible.its how I feel myself. I found my voice eventually and am now a trained nurse with a passion for politics, thiugh in my teens drink was a big threat it just provided instant armour and relaxation beware. In toddler music groups all kids sing and dance but he will be sitting on my lap holding me tightly or near the exit door wanting to go out. They need no reason for meltdown all of a sudden. And punishment or shouting is a Big No for him. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
