Tired woman returns. Briefly

I know. I've been missing in action. I've explained why here. I am so, so, so tired. But I feel duty bound to pop in and say hello to you lovely blogging people and sorry that I've been negligent in my commenting efforts.

I know I have news. I'm sure I have much to tell you. I'm sure that it's hilarious and wonderful stuff. But it's currently having a nap in a dark corner of my brain.

The only thing I can remember with any clarity about the last few days is this delightful conversation with my 3 year old yesterday, in which we discussed the merits of healthy eating. I was trying to explain why being too fat (I was going to say overweight for sake of political correctness but he's three and understands thin and fat, big and small, round and square - i.e. words with a single syllable) isn't very good for your health.

And he pipes up: "You mean fat like you mummy?"

So that was nice. Kinda sums up how things have been.

Kiss kiss

Crikey, if you're fat what hope is there for me!
I don't know how you do it, but you're doing just brilliantly. And we are all totally behind you.
Keep your chin up!

That was nice of him. Imagine that. You busy. Who woulda thunk it!

Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings...A not-too-recent conversation with my daughter started with the words, 'When I'm old like you...'

Oh I've had the fat comment too - it's completely normal! Take care of yourself.

Bless him! Small Child and I had a similar conversation that involved "my big bottom". I need to teach her about J Lo I think! Hope you're feeling more full of beans soon and I think with all you have going on, parts of your brain are entitled to a nap!

My son, bless him, at a tender age once asked me "are boobies meant to stick out forward, or sort of hang down?" I loved the pure innocence of the question.

Of course, I should have answered "Hang down. You know, those poor young girls in their teens and 20s and 30s have to wait years and years before theirs hang down and look good". I didn't though - I blathered on about people coming in all shapes and sizes, bla bla bla.
